Keith Clark, M.D., F.A.C.S., Ph.D, has been in otolaryngology practice in Oklahoma City for over 25 years. He is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology.
Dr. Clark received his medical degree from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in 1978. He then completed specialized training in otorhinolaryngology at the University of Iowa, achieving a Masters degree in Otorhinolaryngology in 1983. Dr. Clark then joined the faculty at the University of Oklahoma and continued his studies, earning a Ph.D. in physiology in 1999, specializing in the larynx. Dr. Clark served as a full professor in the department of Otolaryngology at the University of Oklahoma at the end of 19 years of service.
During his time at the university, Dr. Clark dealt extensively with pediatric diseases of the head and neck (in babies and children), especially airway disorders and abnormalities of the voice box and trachea. He also has considerable experience in the diagnosis and treatment of airway problems in both adults and children, routinely performing laryngeal tracheal reconstruction.
Dr. Clark also has extensive experience and expertise in treatment of voice disorders. Over 15 years ago, he began using Botox ® injections to help patients with vocal cord problems. Now he has one of the largest practices in the United States specializing in this type of treatment. Dr. Clark uses an extensive voice laboratory with innovative technologies and instruments to assess the vocal cords of singers and other professionals who come to him for evaluation and treatment.
In the area of endoscopic sinus surgery, Dr. Clark has over twenty five years of experience as well. He also teaches medical residents and gives courses on this topic. Dr. Clark uses state-of-the-art equipment at St. Anthony’s Hospital to allow him to perform increasingly more complicated sinus surgeries.
Dr. Clark’s areas of expertise include:
- Otolaryngology
- General ENT (ear, nose & throat) Surgery, Pediatric and Adult
- Sinus Disease and Endoscopic Sinus Surgery
- Laryngology and Voice Disorders
- Care of the Professional Voice
- BOTOX® Injections for Laryngeal Dysphonias
- Pediatric ENT, including Airway Problems
Dr. Clark’s professional affiliations include:
- Fellow, the American College of Surgeons
- Fellow, the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery
- Member, the Oklahoma County Medical Society
- Member, the Oklahoma Academy of Otolaryngology
Dr. Clark continues to explore new technologies and techniques in order to expand his areas of expertise. For example, he is currently involved in a study conducted by the National Institute of Health to compare treatments for repair of paralyzed vocal cords.
And in February of 2005, Dr. Clark, along with Dr. Hunter, received training in the use of innovative new treatments for diseases of the salivary glands and ducts. These procedures are minimally invasive and no incisions are required. At present, Drs. Hunter and Clark will be the only physicians in Oklahoma qualified to perform these procedures.
